On-site smoke curtain repairs
Our core business is offering repair options where possible or interim work to gain compliance while replacement parts are sourced which may not always be readily available. This is to ensure you get the best value for money in an increasingly competitive business environment.
Our operations team can facilitate any site visits to develop cost-effective solutions to your smoke curtain needs.
Repairs include:
Repairing rips and tears on curtains where possible (most common issue)
Address curtain jamming and catching faults (bottom bar and side guides)
Curtain unit re-alignment
Headbox, bottom bar and roller repair and metalwork re-fabrication
Patching options for more significantly damaged curtain (Please note: this is not always possible due to curtain fabric needing to meet compliance standards)
Electrical - Curtain controller repair options
Temporary power supply for interim more urgent issues – E.g. to retract curtain when down over a throughfare or lift door.
Backup battery replacement and system servicing
Any electrical, fabric or metal repairs possible providing these meet NZ codes of compliance.
Componentry replacement
As Slidespec work with the majority of existing NZ based smoke curtain manufactures and suppliers we are your one stop shop for sourcing compatible products quickly and when providing technical labour support and remediation. (Smoke Curtain repair work)

Curtain material replacement
The most common smoke curtain failure is the occurrence of rips and tears to the barrier/curtain fabric. Previously to rectify this you would need to replace the unit in its entirety, costing thousands if not, tens of thousands of dollars.
What sets Slidespec apart from our competitors is our investment in our commercial grade fabricating machinery. This allows us to manufacture exact dimensions to fit with your current curtains with substantially lower waiting times.
We bulk import certified curtain material which complies to NZ standard AS1851 to ensure we have this on hand at all times.
This enables us to measure, fabricate and replace quickly without the need for full unit replacement and associated builders works.

Through our trade network we also emphasise the one stop shop aspect through managing our own subcontractors, for example, building works for access/install, certified electrical connections, fire connections and interfacing, certified ceiling contractors and plastering/painting services.
Installation and replacement unit services
Our Slidespec team are qualified to undertake any installation work, whether is a single curtain or a whole building.
We manage design, supply and install for any job and have a proven track record of delivering high end, reliable projects.
For any consented works we would supply required drawings, sign off/PS3 documentation if required as well as extended warranties on both product and workmanship.
